1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Plated mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Plated is an AI-powered meal planning application that allows users to:

• Browse and search recipes
• Generate personalized meal plans using AI
• Create and manage households with family members
• Generate shopping lists based on meal plans
• Save favorite recipes and add personal notes

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the App, you must:

• Sign in using Google Sign-In
• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Be at least 13 years of age

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
• Not transmit any viruses, malware, or harmful code
• Not use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Not scrape, copy, or distribute content from the App without permission
• Respect the intellectual property rights of others

5. Household Collaboration

When you create or join a household:

• You agree to share certain information (name, email, meal plans, shopping lists) with household members
• Household administrators can manage members and household settings
• You can leave a household at any time through the App settings
• Household data may be deleted if all members leave or the household is deleted by an administrator

6. AI-Generated Content

Our App uses Google Gemini AI to generate meal plans:

• AI-generated meal plans are suggestions and may not be suitable for all dietary needs
• You are responsible for verifying the suitability of any meal plan or recipe for your dietary requirements
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or nutritional information of AI-generated content
• Always consult with a healthcare professional regarding dietary restrictions or medical conditions

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Free and Premium Features

• Some features of the App may be available for free
• Premium features require a subscription or one-time purchase
• Pricing and available features are subject to change with notice

Payment Processing

• All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your App Store account settings
• Refunds are subject to Apple's or Google's refund policies

No Refund Policy

Due to the nature of digital services:

• We do not offer refunds for purchases made through the App
• You may cancel your subscription at any time to prevent future charges
• Cancellation will not refund the current billing period

8. Intellectual Property

All content in the App, including recipes, images, text, logos, and software, is owned by Plated or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, or distribute App content without permission
• Modify or create derivative works from App content
• Use our trademarks or branding without authorization

9. User Content

When you create content in the App (notes, custom meal plans, etc.):

• You retain ownership of your content
• You grant us a license to store, display, and process your content to provide the service
• You are responsible for the content you create and share
• We may remove content that violates these Terms

10. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services:

• Google Sign-In: Subject to Google's Terms of Service
• Google Gemini AI: Subject to Google's AI terms and policies
• App Store/Play Store: Subject to Apple's or Google's terms

We are not responsible for third-party services or their practices.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Defects will be corrected
• The App is free of viruses or harmful components
• Results from using the App will meet your requirements

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plated shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Damages arising from your use or inability to use the App
• Health issues arising from following recipes or meal plans

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Plated from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your use of the App
• Your violation of any rights of another party

14. Privacy

Your use of the App is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App:

• If you violate these Terms
• If required by law
• At our sole discretion with or without notice

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the App settings.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Posting the new Terms in the App
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending an email notification (for significant changes)

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

18. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through:

1. Good faith negotiation between the parties
2. Binding arbitration if negotiation fails
3. Courts in the jurisdiction where Plated is registered, as a last resort

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Plated regarding the use of the App.
